Vinyl Signage

Vinyl lettering, or "ready to apply" letters are customized to your measurements and specifications. Vinyl letters can be applied to nearly any smooth surface.

Signs360 can turn logos, artwork or photographs, no matter how complex, into highly profitable, durable vinyl graphics of exceptional quality.

Application

Vinyl graphics can be removed from windows without damaging the glass.

This permits easy modifications when they are needed.
It also eliminates leasehold damage should you ever need to relocate your business.

Traditionally hand-lettered by skilled artisans, vinyl film can be applied to all kinds of materials and surfaces, both indoor and outdoor. It is widely used for signs of all types: vehicle lettering and graphics, window lettering, banners, mock-ups, prototypes and more.

Technology

Signs360 uses the latest vinyl-cutting technology and the full range of vinyl colours, including metallics and sandblasted/etched. We scan and digitise logos, holding them in our computer archives, and we offer full digital printing facilities from wide format up to 5 meters wide..

Types of vinyl

Not all vinyl is alike. The films vary in their appearance, durability, colour-fastness, adhesion and pliability and range from inexpensive low-tack films for temporary use to cast vinyl that will last for many years. Customer dissatisfaction with vinyl signs and graphics often results from using the wrong type of film.

Cast vinyl:

Cast or ‘premium’ films have the longest life span (up to 10 years), the greatest colour variety, the best adhesion and superior surface conformity. They are also thinner and glossier than other vinyls, creating a smooth ‘painted-on’ appearance.

Calendared vinyl:

Calendared or ‘intermediate’ films are less expensive and are used more often by more shops. They can last a number of years outdoors (two to five years). Calendared films adhere well to smooth flat surfaces, but their greater thickness and lack of pliability make them unsuitable for rough, sharply curved or porous surfaces. Calendared films are generally low-gloss in finish.

Other vinyl:

Other types of films include reflective; holographic; metallic (which are polyester-based); printed, screen-patterned or fluorescent; and translucent.

Printed or screen-patterned films resemble wood, marble or stone. These specialty films have shorter life spans than Calendared vinyl and are best suited to indoor or temporary outdoor use. Fluorescent vinyl, in particular, may fade in a matter of months if exposed to direct sun.

Translucent vinyl is predominantly used on illuminated lightboxes, but Signs360 uses it on windows as well. It is more expensive, but since it allows light to pass through it, surfaces featuring translucent vinyl appear to glow and take on a life of their own.

Self-adhesive vinyl:

Self-adhesive vinyl (SAV) is designed for short-term promotional use while still maintaining a durable effect to protect prints. There are several types:

  1. Gloss SAV: Glossy, shiny appearance which can be laminated using a Promotional Gloss/Satin Durable Over-Laminate.
  1. Matt SAV: Matt, semi-frosted appearance which can be laminated using a Matt Durable Over-Laminate. Great for reducing glare and camera flashes!
  1. Clear SAV: Clear self-adhesive vinyl, used for window graphics. Can also be printed for back-lit signs and requires any durable Over-Laminate.
  1. Reflective SAV: Reflects upon striking the image (night signage).
  1. Translucent SAV: Semi-transparent SAV used mainly for light box displays.
  1. Reverse Print Clear SAV: Printed for application to the inside of windows, viewed from outside (Back-Laminate with white vinyl).
  • Digital Etched Glass SAV: Printed for application to the inside of windows, viewed from outside.
