In May 2008 Signs360 was commisioned by Crawley Construction to manufacture and install the outdoor lightbox. The sign was designed by the architecs.

Suki Hairdressing one of Sydney’s most renowned hair Solon’s, is a high tech fashionable salon located on the famous Oxford Street Paddington in Sydney.
Suki Hairdressing have just refurbished their store with a new modern
slick look
The owner of the store requested a world class architectural design company
to develop their new store on Oxford Street 2 doors up from the existing
store. The designers were commissioned to create a world class minimalist
very high end interior with a result of being light and airy.
To compliment the magnificent interior the signage solution had to be of ultra high quality.The main objective of the under awning double sided light box is to serve as the identification of the store from outside, designed to stand out in this busy street already congested by many box style light box signs.
The sign had to compliment & enhance the new modern interior and
keep up with the salons chic image.
Signs360 and the interior shop fitters from Crowley Constructions agreed
to under take the task at hand, which was to produce, manufacture and
install this very unusual designer sign.
The sign which has created is a double sided under-awning sign made from aluminum 3mm sheeting,
The process involved the following;
- Precutting the aluminum with lasers to allow for the lettering
- Hand welding the aluminum to form a light box shell which was perfectly
crafted to precision and workmanship of the highest order.
- Once the shell was fabricated, sanded and prepped it was sent off for
powder coating ( colour match supplied by the architects ), to weather
the outdoor elements for years to come
- The design of the sign involved the text section reversed to allow for
a 20mm opal white Perspex letters to be raised through to create edge
lit style lettering on a silky smooth face.
- The face of the raised letter have solid white and satin aluminum faces
on the letters
- The light box was designed in a manner where no screws are visible to
the naked eye. The sign was made of two parts, a top section which consists
of a flat bar with the fluorescent lights attached to the structure which
allows the lights to be positioned inside the shell at the correct height
for superior illumination.
- The bottom half of the light box was fixed to the top frame to create
the completed sign box, it’s an extremely heavy structure of the
highest quality.
- Finally the down brackets were custom made to compliment the sign creation
The entire project was completed in under 11 days from time of receiving the go ahead. The Signs360 were also responsible for the full manufacture and installation of the job with vinyl signage also required for the front door and the fascia of the building. The installation of the light box sign proved to be challenging due the weight of the sign and the condition of overhanging roof parapet.
The roof sheeting above the awning had to be opened, where signs360 had to create cross beams to house the signage brackets giving the necessary structural strength to holds the sign in place.
